Storytelling: the European challenge of heritage communication

What is the way to tell the story of the age-old European cultural heritage – intended not only as artistic, but also historical, civil and business legacy? How can this storytelling become a lever for the economic and social renaissance? How can businesses and institutions use this incredible resource, consisting of artefacts and monuments and other intangible assets, such as territories, tastes, styles and traditions, to strengthen the confidence and sense of belonging of citizens to the communities? Can the link between cultural and territorial identity help to recompose a successful model of Italian productivity and attractiveness that are able to preserve the legacy of "made in Italy" revitalized through new contributions and perspectives?

These are some of the questions discussed during the 2014 edition of the Summit, held in the atmosphere of the growing interest of institutions and individuals to the sphere of heritage, becoming increasingly strategic even in the field of economy and politics, and certainly central for the cultural sphere. Culture means identity and appraisal of the heritage means strengthening the feeling of belonging and, through this belonging, the sense of community can be built. This sense of community has been the fundamental value of the European project since its very beginning.

The ICS 2014 edition held in Rome, will be part of Confindustria Enterprise Culture Week.
