"The mind" behind House of Cards in Rome for the summit ICS

Why everyone is talking about storytelling? How storytelling can satisfy the new needs of communication related to the enhancement of Europe's heritage? This and much more will be discussed November 19 during the fifth edition of ICS Rome, which can boast Michael Dobbs, the author of House of Cards, among its guests

The fifth edition of the International Communication Summit, scheduled for November 19 in Rome, is coming very soon. The theme of this edition is the role of storytelling in the European challenge of the heritage communication, an area of increasing importance in the EU agenda. Michael Dobbs, the mind behind the trilogy of novels that were adapted into the hugely acclaimed BBC television series “House of Cards” and one of the most popular storytellers of the contemporary world scene, will be talking about Europe, culture and identity.

Authoritative testimonies on the social value of cultural heritage will be offered by Dimitrios Pandermalis, director of the Acropolis Museum in Athens, and by Fedora Filippi, Scientific director of the Domus Aurea in Rome. Among the ideas that will be raised, special attention is drawn to the link between heritage and local identity as a key innovative stimulus to relaunch made in Italy. The sharp reflections of African American director Spike Lee will enrich the event. His exclusive speech for ICS Europe, given on September 24, 2014, will be shown in Italy for the first time.

Among the speakers of the summit, there will be Pierluigi d'Agata, Director General of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, and Davide Del Monte, director of Transparency International Italy.
