Giovanni Allevi and the No Hunger Orchestra at the Expo Center for the World Food Day

Music and multiculturalism to celebrate the World Food Day and launch a global message against world hunger: at the Expo Center, the concert of Giovanni Allevi and the No Hunger Orchestra

The universal language of music acknowledges an important message against global hunger and poverty: the suggestive piano performances by Giovanni Allevi, preceded by those of the No Hunger Orchestra (whose instruments are made with non-edible parts of food) and the band of musicians from the cultural International cooperation project Fronteras Musicales Abiertas, enlivened the Expo Center to celebrate the World Food Day of 2015, the European Year for Development.

The concert “Food moves the world” has been organized by the Italian Cooperation for Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, together with the Department for Humanitarian Aid and Civil protection of the European Commission, and with the technical support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), UN-Expo, Action Against Hunger (ACF International) and the Italian-Latin American Institute (IILA).

Design is a thought activity: we should not replace it with a mere “optimizing” approach, because it’s from imperfections that talent emerges.
