Design is a thought activity: we should not replace it with a mere “optimizing” approach, because it’s from imperfections that talent emerges.
Last 1st December Transparency International EU (TI EU) announced the establishment of the first Advisory Group to guide the work of the organisation. The group will be chaired by Mario Monti, President of Bocconi University and former Prime Minister of Italy, and will be composed of several distinguished experts in the fields of anti-corruption policy, academic research, civic activism and EU affairs.
The Advisory Group will advise TI EU on its activities and on how to implement its mission. The first task will be to help develop a strategy for TI EU’s advocacy for the period 2016-2020. «The work of Transparency International to reach a strong and visible anti-corruption policy at all levels will need the guidance of experienced and committed people, and we are delighted to have this in abundance in our advisory group» said Carl Dolan, Director of Transparency International EU.
During the first meeting, the group discussed the main challenges that a successful anti-corruption strategy at EU level will need to tackle. The strategy will be published in spring 2016 and the Advisory Group will meet at least once a year to discuss progress and other relevant matters.
