Design is a thought activity: we should not replace it with a mere “optimizing” approach, because it’s from imperfections that talent emerges.
Challenges and opportunities related to Food Safety, with a special focus on two themes: Assessment Science and the connection between Science, Innovation and Society. These were the major topics of the Second EFSA Scientific Conference, which took place last 14th, 15th and 16th October in Milan, at the World Expo.
More than 700 representatives from the scientific and risk assessment community as well as risk managers from in and outside Europe attended the conference, inaugurated by EFSA Executive Director Bernhard Url with these words: «Although we come from different countries and continents, we all care about food security. The World Expo theme – Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life – reminds us that food safety and the availability of food are inextricably linked together».
