Michelangelo Pistoletto, Lothar Baumgarten, Richard Hamilton, Roni Horn, Cildo Meireles, Gilberto Zorio: these are some of the outstanding artists who were seated in the parterre on April 23^rd in Bruxelles and were protagonists of a charity gala dinner within the project named “Art x Wine = Water”.

The artists, selected by Vincente Todolì, former director of the Tate Modern Gallery, designed the labels of a set of illustrious wines which were sold during the dinner. The funds, as provided for in the project born in 2003, will be destined to support two centres built in Malawi by the Comunità di Sant’Egidio to fight the spread of AIDS and ensure a program of nutrition and literacy in Mozambique.

The set includes a limited edition portfolio of the six numbered and signed prints by the artists, six lithographs of the labels, numbered and signed as well, plus the wines selected by the chef Antonello Corona: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano “Avignonesi”, Summus “Castello Banfi”, Brunello “Il Poggione”, Chianti Classico “Castello di Ama”, Luenzo “Cesani”, Vernaccia Riserva di San Gimignano “Panizzi.

The fundraiser took place on the occasion of the 2014 Art Brussels week in the residence of the new Italian ambassador in the Kingdom of Belgium, Alfredo Bastianelli. It was organized by Associazione Arte Continua and sponsored by Gruppo Fendi and Maserati. Pomilio Blumm agency was media partner of the event.
