It marks the first time that a G7 cultural summit has ever been organized: Italy promoted this event with the aim to give centrality to this theme in the worldwide debate. The concert of the Maggio fiorentino Symphony Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Muti at Opera di Firenze has been one of the event highlights. In the opening speech he stated: “Whenever a dictator comes to power, he silences cultural figures. Tonight, instead, we speak and make music in the city known as the cradle of the Renaissance: a great message of hope launched by us musicians, towards t future.”

The organization of the meeting in Florence, the opening ceremony of a series of meetings related to the G7, was conceived and developed by Pomilio Blumm that is already involved in heritage communication projects.
